On Tuesday, February 16th, Global Zero, AFSC and Massachusetts Peace Action are proud to present Ward Wilson. His speech is titled: The Realist Case for Eliminating Nuclear Weapons, and will begin at 7 PM. Ward is a Senior Fellow and director of the Rethinking Nuclear Weapons project at the British American Security Information Council (BASIC), a think tank focusing on nuclear disarmament. Wilson’s research focuses on the myths at the foundation of nuclear weapons thinking and evolving perspectives on deterrence and utility, anchored in pragmatism. He is a preeminent scholar challenging the realistic utility of nuclear weapons. Wilson’s book, Five Myths About Nuclear Weapons, brings a new perspective and extensive analysis to the history of nuclear weapons, meticulously researched from the Cold War Archives.
