Don’t Let President Obama Go to Hiroshima Empty Handed!
President Obama will briefly visit Hiroshima when he travels to Japan for the May 26-27 G-7 summit. Depending on what he does there, it could spur steps toward nuclear disarmament or it could serve as a propaganda show, diverting attention from the U.S. first-strike policy, spending for its trillion dollar triad, and the nation’s 7,000+ nuclear weapons – a fraction are capable of bringing on nuclear winter.
Please send an e-mail to President Obama with the following message:
-go to Hiroshima but don’t go empty-handed, announce concrete steps toward global nuclear disarmament, such as:
– call for negotiations for complete elimination of nuclear weapons as required by Article VI of the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty (NPT)
-announce unilateral reductions in the U.S. nuclear arsenal, much as President George H.W. Bush did. They could revitalize disarmament diplomacy
-cancel the $1 trillion plan to build the next generation of nuclear weapons and their delivery systems. Thanks for taking action.
